Just Two Quarters
Where did this idea come from! Read below.
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:26-27
Just 2 Quarters
Several years ago, in my college days I was doing laundry, when I realized I was two quarters shy to throw my clothes in the dryer. I was running a music review site, working full time, and some how managing college in the process. I didn’t have time to run to the store for two measly quarters. So I did what any good, busy full time college student would do! I tore my house apart. I mean every purse, the couch, I checked pockets, I exhausted everywhere I could think to look.
Finally I looked up and I said, “Really God two quarters! You can’t help me with this.” Just like that I look to the bookshelf and I feel in my spirit that God wants me to look in the cubes we keep the gaming stuff in. I am like this is crazy, why would there ever be any money in there, but ok God. So I go over and empty the dang thing out and no dice. I look up to God and I am like “What is the point of this?”
Suddenly I look down and realize I never looked under the fabric piece that keeps the box from collapsing. So I pull it up and not only was there two quarters there was a dime. God didn’t just provide my need he gave me a bonus too! The bible tells us in Matthew 6 that if God provides for the birds, flowers, why doubt that he would provide for us. He made us in His image, we are His children and He truly does want the best for all of us!
I have never not been provided for, God has always come through. Even in the smallest of needs. Even when all I needed was Just Two Quarters.
